TOWARDS THE SUNSET:KEY WEST PART III - LATITUDES RESTAURANT

IMG_2253_edited.jpg

This amazing restaurant was the place that we chose to celebrate my birthday.

Latitudes is truly on an island! You need to take a boat to go there and you must make a reservation in order to be allowed to board on the ferry.

We took the boat at sunset, and it was magic. It put us in a perfect mood for the rest of our dinner experience. It was few minutes ride to paradise. Getting there we went to our reserved table under the stars on the beach and illuminated by tiki torches. Breathtaking!

The food was wonderful. For the starts we had a delicious Carpaccio of Beef. Our main courses were a Tenderloin with mushroom duxelle (yukon puree, asparagus) and a Waygu beef skirt steak (honey and ancho chile crusted). To drink we chose a Argentinean Malbec, of course, my favorite grape and for the dessert the famous Key lime pie and a chocolate ice cream with red fruits. We utterly loved all!

The inside room is also beautiful! This restaurant is one that chefs dream of, and Executive Chef Todd Holender takes full advantage of his tropical surroundings. Chef Todd, as he’s known, works his culinary magic in Latitudes’ Hemingway Room, where photos of author, avid fisherman and former Key West resident Ernest Hemingway adorn the walls, lending a nautical air to the restaurant.

The food was wonderful & the atmosphere was breathtaking. Being surrounded by the most beautiful, crystal blue water and feeling the tropical breezes is truly paradise!

The island, the sunset, the food, the world class service, the 4th of July’s fireworks and of course my fave company made my birthday perfect!
