HEALTHY IS TO BE HAPPY: WHOLE FOODS

You 're wrong if you think we don't eat healthy here in America. And you go wrong if you also think that eating organic foods is a new wave. Here, since 1978, when John Mackey and Renee Lawson borrowed $45,000 from family and friends to open a small natural foods store called SaferWay in Austin, Texas, Americans have eaten healthy. A few years later SaferWay became Whole Foods Market and it has been one of the most successful supermarket stories in decades.
So let’s know a little of this supermarket which is my favorite! There I feel at home and find everything I need to exercise my gourmet skills and to keep myself healthy and happy! #healthyistobehappy
While food sellers such as Walmart, Aldi, and WinCo compete first and foremost by offering low prices, the Whole Foods model was built with a particular focus on organic, all-natural, high-quality foods. This supermarket is often credited with reinventing the supermarket, and today it is undeniably the king of the healthier grocery store category.
Whole Foods only sells products that meet its self-created quality standards for being "natural", which the store defines as: minimally processed foods that are free of hydrogenated fats as well as artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives, and many others as listed on their online "Unacceptable Food Ingredients" list. It has also announced that it doesn't intend to sell meat or milk from cloned animals or their offspring, even though the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has ruled them safe to eat.
The company also sells many USDA-certified organic foods and products that aim to be environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible. Stores do not carry foie gras or eggs from hens confined to battery cages due to animal cruelty concerns, as a result of successful advocacy by animal welfare groups.
Each store is a real stage. Whole Foods takes a lot of care with the design and details of its stores. They are always well located and clean with modern décor, offering fresh food in a nice and enjoyable place to shop. Each one must excite consumers and encourage them to explore the site.
The company excites its consumers by appealing to the five human senses. The shelves always well organized and enlightened are a glimpse into the eyes. Customers are encouraged to try the food and touch everything in the store. The smell of food is another highlight, from the warm bread, to coffees and fruits, spreading an odor of mouthwatering. Their stores usually offer more than 1,000 different types of wines, 400 types of cheeses, oysters, sushi, tapas, ice cream, and more than 300 types of fruits and vegetables, flowers and even Brazil nuts, almonds and peanuts, without forgetting, of course, the delicious chocolates.
At the entrance of each store there are some signs that say how many organic items are available on the day and tells you how many of these products have been manufactured by the producers of the region where the unit is installed. Within its stores the customers can do their shopping and also enjoy lunch, dinner or have a snack, since there is an island that sells food, from breakfast to soups, pasta, salad, Indian, Latin, Greek and Japanese food.
Another initiative that makes the difference is related to the staff. All the team are very polite and gentle. In every stores, each contributor, as they are called, has up to $ 20 a day to spend on customer relationship management. So, if an contributor finds that any customer looks for a long time a particular product, but don't put it in the cart, he has the possibility of offering the product saying it's a gift so that you can try. Awesome!
So, it’s totally possible to eat healthy in America! It’s up to you! ;) #feedyourbetternature
