WEDDING PLANNING: THE FIRST DANCE
The "first dance" of a married couple is a important element at wedding celebrations. Dating back the era of Victorian balls, wedding etiquette suggests that the bride and groom should dance first. It symbolizes the love between the couple and the start of your new life together. It’s also a lovely way to surprise and entertain your guests with a beautiful choreographed dance routine.
The style of dance is a personal choice. I suggest you choose a song that you love and one that speaks to the relationship between the bride and groom.
It is very important to practice dancing to the song before the wedding. If either of you has little or no experience on the dance floor, take lessons from a professional.
For the brides: consider using another dress in dance. Wear shoes that are comfortable for dancing. If you aren't used to high heels, wear lower heels or flats.
Our first dance was a tango. That is our preferred style and the Gardel’s song - Por Una Cabeza, one of our favorites. For that, we took lessons with one of the best choreographers and dancers of Brazil, Fernando Campani. He's an amazing professional, he’s utterly passionate for dance.
In our briefing, we told Fernando that we'd like a classic tango and at the same time we’d like show our complicity, passion and love as a couple. Fernando created a choreography inspired by the movie Scent of a Woman, especially for us. It was an awesome experience, and after twelve lessons, we got our goal!
Below you can see some pictures! It’s our unforgettable moment!
